Colourful Clubbing Makeup Look

There are not many occasions that allow us to get all glammed up I find... Well, that is unless you are an actress or a singer and have to chance to go to fancy events! Besides prom, christmas and weddings, I find occasions to get dolled up lack a little bit too much for my liking!!

Even though it might not be as glamourous as a wedding or a prom, I have always enjoyed getting ready for a night out in the town with my girlfriends! Spring is here and summer is on it's way, it will be time to rock those heels and take out the cute dresses. When heading out to a club or bar I like to go all out with my make up with some bold looks that I rarely have the occasion to do such as wear false eye lashes, add glitter to my eyes, make a deep smokey eye and add an extra layer of contour and blush because let's face it, the lights in a bar a definitely not the most flattering ones and make my face look either white or round!! Haha

Anyways, I thought it was the appropriate time to do this fun going out look, hope you enjoy!! All products are listed in the video.

ps. I know one of my eyes looks weird and red, I'm not exactly sure why but its because of my new contact lenses...

My Epilator Review: The Remington EP-6025

Summer is coming up! :D I am so excited! Yes, I know, it's only March and I live in Canada so it's supposed to still be cold, grey and snowy but very surprisingly the weather has been so lovely these past few days, 21degree Celsius mid march is probably a record for us, honestly... these temperatures never come before the month of April! Anyhow, this is not the topic of the day but it sure isn't something completely out of topic. I wanted to talk about my latest discovery, an EPILATOR!

Okay, so before watching Andreaschoice youtube video, I didn't even know these existed!! Boy was I missing out! Unwanted hair has always kind of been a problem of mine, especially during summer...
First because I beyond hate shaving... well not the action itself but the result, spiky legs after 1 day (for myself), sometimes itchy legs, definitely not silky smooth legs for long and if you like to wear dresses and shorts like me, shaving every 2-3 days is definitely not the best option, so I once tried waxing, hated it as well! It can feel kind of messy, not something I consider simple and fast. I know they sell bands that you just have to heat up now, never tried those but wax does not really appeal to me for this one reason in particular, now this sounds a little weird speaking of my leg hair haha but it's very spare but kinda corse I guess and does not grow equal and kind of in patches... so if I wax, after a week i'll have a couple hairs growing and others not... touching up after that just gets weird and I end up shaving again. So 2 years ago I started using these little pads you rub on your legs that kind of sand down the hair, which works really well and was my favourite up to date but the hair still grows to fast and it doesn't last long...

Let's face it, being a woman is not the funnest thing sometimes! (Even though I wouldn't change it haha) So, after seeing this girl on youtube doing a video, I decided to get an EPILATOR! :D

Here is my verdict:

The Good Stuff:
- Last for weeks! Probably the most encouraging perks of all!
- Touch ups are GREAT! just whip out you epilator and go over the patches of hair you need, do your arms and bikini line super fast, super easy.
- NOT MESSY at all!! Barely no cleaning up after... (Well of course you have to clean the machine, but it's as easy as cleaning you razor.)
- Cost efficient! It is a splurge the first time you buy one, but after that you are set for years! The one I got was a little bit more expensive, but you definitely could grab one cheaper. It was the last one left at Wal-Mart lol

The Less Fun Stuff
-  It hurts like hell!!!!! BUT I know that after a couple uses my skin will toughen up so that not really the problem because the pain is temporary!
- Leaves the skin really red and the pores irritated, I have sensitive skin so when I do it in the evening, the next day the pores are still red...

Here is the one I use:

The Remington EP-6025

It works really well, I am very happy with my choice and even though I haven't tried any other, I wouldn't trade it for any other. You have 2 speeds to adjust depending on your type of hair, I personally prefer the slower one (for coarser hair) because I feel it really pulls the hair out, you get 2 heads, the regular type one and the small one for precise areas. You also get a travel bag, a little brush to clean the tweezers and what I like the most of it is the fact that it comes with a cord to charge it NO BATTERIES! Isn't that wonderful!! There is even an adapter... what ever that is haha! The design is pretty nice too! I always enjoy cute-girly things!  I love the greyish-purpulish colour with the flowers design, adds a nice touch!

So there you go! I hope you enjoyed this little review, if you are looking for an efficient way of getting rid of unwanted hair like me that is easy, fast, clean and leaves your legs soft for weeks, well an epilator might be a good option to consider! Just make sure you exfoliate and wash your legs with warm water before using this device to open you pores and get rid of the dead skin cells for extra smooth skin.

Here is an amazon link I found, I paid mine about 75.00$ at Wal-Mart, it's cheaper here but where I am from, with the shipping and all, it would come down to pretty much to the same price :(

Kesha dirty pictures makeup

This look is so simple to create, as soon as I saw her wearing it in the video I instantly wanted to recreate the makeup she had on. I understand this isn't for everyone and it's not something most people would wear often, but to go out, perfect. Adding the glitters and making it glossy with the vaseline adds a touch of glamour to the look. Even if you are not used to wearing bold eyeshadow like this, why not try it... maybe you will like it! The worst that can happen is that you don't like it, nobody will force you out of your house with it, simply wash it off...

So here is the list of all the products I used:

Eyes:

Black eye pencil, I used smolder from MAC
Dark grey shimmery eyeshadow, I used gunmetal from Urban Decay
Black shimmery eyeshadow, I used oil slick from UD
Light brown or warm nude colour, I used naked from UD
Matte black eyeshadow, Carbon from MAC

Glitter: Angel dust #9 from Faces + metallic glow primer
Mascara: Feline mascara from Lise Watier

Face:

Make Up For Ever HD Foundation
Contour: Chocolat Soleil from Too Faced
Blush: Harmony from MAC (rose-beige muted matte colour)
Highlight: Bronzing Powder from Too Faced + Shell cream highlighter from MAC

Lips:

Nude, matte lipstick, I used Myth from MAC

I used what I had, but of course you don't need the exact same products as me to create the same effect. There are many good drugstore, cheaper brands dupes that will do perfectly the job.

Leave me a comment and some feedback if you liked it or didn't, how did it go for you... If you have a request, let me know, it's going to be my pleasure.

Soft day look with urban decay naked palette!!

For some persons, my neutral, soft day look might be something dramatic that they would wear on a night out, for myself, I love make up and nothing is never too dark or dramatic, I consider that a very daytime look... well, the fun thing about make up is that you can adapt it to every ones needs, for example, if you have blue eyes, add more of those golden colours to make your eyes stand out and if your eyes are green, you could emphasize more with the reddish burgundy colours to make your eyes pop! If this is too dark for you, then simply leave out the darkest colour in the crease...

I decided to use only the urban decay naked palette for this look because the range of shades is amazing!! You can create the most dramatic looks, to really soft day looks, colours for all eye colours, some shimmery ones and some matte ones (wonderful for eyebrows). If I was to leave my house and bring one palette, it would definitely be this one!

Okay, enough bragging about this palette haha, here are the colours I used to achieve my look:

Eyes:

Base colour: so I cheated I used blanctype from mac
Highlight under the brow and inner corners: virgin and sin together
On the lid: sidecar
Outer part of the lid: smog
Eyebrows: Buck :)
Under my eye and in the crease to give more depth: toasted and hustle
Kohl pencil: smolder from mac
Define the lash line and go over smolder: creep

** Quick tip: If you want your eyes to pop more depending on their colour, try this:
Blue: you could leave out toasted and use half baked because in the colour wheel, blue and orange compliment each other and half baked is a really pigmented shimmery golden-orange base colour!
Green: in this case, red is complimentary to green, so to really make your peepers stand out, leave out smog and add more of toasted!

Face:

Contour: blunt
Cream blush: lady blush
Powder blush: unknown lise watier
Highlight: laura mercier candlelight illuminating powder

Lips:

I kept it simple, I used a coral shimmery lipstick called sandy b from mac
If you feel more flirty and sexy, try a raspberry shade lip colour!! You are going to turn heads for sure!! One of my favourite ones to use is r12 I believe, from Sephora!!

Feel free to leave me some comments, I love having feedbacks and I also accept requests!!

Big hugs and raspberry kisses, Erika xxx

A timeless make up look: the pin up

I do this look very often because it can be very elegant as well as casual if you only change a couple details to the look!

Eyes:

You want to apply a neutral flesh tone colour first, I used black type, brule from mac is also great!
Then in the crease I went with a darker warmer colour from the urban decay naked palette called naked, wedge and omega from mac are also two of my favorites
Optional step: to add a little glamour to my look, I added polyester bride from ud as a highlight in the inner corner of my eye and under my brow. Then I used the faces primer to stick some glitter on my lid for some extra dazzle!! (but if you want to keep it casual, skip this step)
Then I used mac fluid line in blacktrack and I went over it with carbon, now leaving it like this gives a really clean and chic look, for a more casual look, I decided to add smolder on the rim of my eyes and smoke out under my eye with carbon to give it a different look... make up is an art, you can play with it in so many ways...

Face:

Cheeks, I applied very little of blunt from mac to contour and give dimension to my face and then I added fleur power blush from mac to look alive!
To get that dewy glow, I used shell highlighter from mac with too faced candlelight powder on top!

Lips:

This is the crucial part of the make up that will make you suitable for a night out or for school or work...

To keep it really simple, go for a soft pink-nude mouth... If you are going out and want to make it fun, a hot pink lip looks modern and gorgeous!

I opted for the sexy matte velvet red lip: I first filled my lips with revlon red colorstay lip pencil in red and went over the edges with brick from mac, to finish it up and ensure it's staying power, I put a red powder that doesn't have a name from faces on top, to add more poutiness effect, I put a little bit of white shimmery eyeshadow in the center! Now if this feel too dry for you, use a lipstick, the options are grand! If you are not used to red lips, go for a sheer, satin red lip or a red gloss... if you want full juicy lips, use a lipstick and add clear or red coloured gloss on top... it all depends on the look and the effect you are going for!

I really hope this was helpful, I hope it inspired you to maybe try something new or gave you ideas on you next night out make up look! If you have never tried red lips, maybe now is the time to try it, they look so fabulous on EVERYONE, every skin hair and eyes colour!

Thank you for watching and enjoy!!

Night out browns, Nicole Sherzinger style!!

I really love this dramatic look! I find its perfect for a night out, a party... for standing out!! The best part is that it's going to suit any eye colour, deep brown like me, blue, green, hazel... AND it goes with every skin tone, I just recommend maybe toning down the brown in the outer corner if you have really pale skin!
So here is the picture that inspired me, my look is a little more dramatic and golden and I don't have a nice tan skin like her but we have to adapt with that we've got right!?

My goal was not to imitate her exact make up, I was only inspired by her dewy skin, her smokey shimmery brown eye make up and pale, nude mouth!!
After looking back at my video, I realize that GEE WIZZ I use soo many colours!! At least most of them were from the same palette! I will try to work in that in future videos and limit the quantities of different eyeshadow I use or it will start to get complicated for you guys haha but basically, what you need is a shimmery gold to highlight the center of the lid, a light nude beige one for the inner corner, a white pearly colour under the brow and a dark chocolate brown to add depth in the crease and close to the lashline!

Anyways, here are all the products I used: (Please know that I DO NOT use this much make up on my face everyday!! This is really a going out look or a party look!! haha)

For the eyes:

Started with a base to make sur I have an equal colour all over my lids: mix of brule and wedge from MAC
to add some shimmer across the eyelids, I used a soft brown that doesn't have a name from smashbox
then I added a dark brown-red chocolate colour in the crease and a little above to give more dept, it was corduroy from MAC
I then highlighted the middle of the lid even more with YDK from UD
after this I used a brown eye pencil for UD called bourbon in the crease and to give the shape I wanted to my eye, I then went over it with a rich very dark shimmery brown called twice baked also from UD! (I also lined under my eye with this color)
After, I used nylon and midnight cowboy rides again from UD to blend everything together and soften harsh lines on the eyelid and above the crease, then I added the last of the bigillion colours I used, half baked (dark orange-gold color) on the lid to add warmth!!
hmm actually the last color I used was lame from Stila, a gold color in the inner corners, ohh and I used a shimmery white under the brow! Pheww... that's it... finally... honestly you don't need this many colors...  when I do my make up I just blend sooo many that I don't really remember what I do and almost never create the same look twice haha
Next, I used MAC blacktrack across the lash line and brought it further then I normally would to add more twice baked! (wasn't exactly as dark as I liked it yet... I love dramatic eyes, if you are not really used to it, skip the parts with the liver and the brown pencil )
I also rimmed my water line with smolder from MAC and went over it with carbon

Dewy cheeks:

I first started off with Harmony, a pinkish-brownish kinda blush then I used Blunt, a matte golden-brown, to contour and give dimension to my face!
To give a nice dewy glow I slightly dusted a shimmery bronzer on the cheek bone, then I used a coral-peachy blush called Hipness from MAC to give a pop of colour to my face! Finally! to add extra dazzle I put a touch of shell highlight from mac down the bridge of my nose and on the cheek bone to give that really dewy finish... of course I went over it with a luminescent powder to insure it's staying power! (I used candlelight from Laura Mercier)

Nude Lips:

I decided to go for a more bronzed lip, but you could totally go for a soft pink-nude lip like her!!
I went all over my lips with Subculture from MAC and contoured with the dark brown eye pencil from UD haha then I used Lip Bronzer from too faced in sun bunny, lastly, I added a touch of pinky gloss in the center of my lips!

here is how I do it:

Even though I mixed up a lot of colours, I hope you enjoyed it! I hope it inspired you to let your creativity shine on, not to set barriers for yourself and to do what ever makes you happy! (Even if its crazy turquoise eyeshadow, which I loove and find gives so much pop and fun to the eyes!)
Make up is an art, it is a unique way for us to express ourself threw our styles and our love for colours, textures and dimension! I don't put make up on in the morning for others, I do it for myself, because I love creating, being different, wondering what am I going to put on today!? Make up is my passion, it's what lights my heart on fire and makes me want to move the world haha
If there is something that moves your heart as much as make up does for me, it's important you pursuit your dreams and never let go of them, even when obstacles cross your path! When you really want something, you can achieve anything in life! Think and act like a winner!

I wish you to have an amazing day!! I sure will!! Because everyday you are alive should be one! :)

Until next time, Erika xoxo

How to look like a star with a touch of glamour ;)

Silver is an awsome color that goes well with any color!! Blue, red, green, peach... but mostly... HOT PINK!!!

Maybe you will find that this combo is a little too intense for you, that's all right! In that case you can just leave out the black on the eye lid and keep the eye really soft looking! Make up is not about following something to the book, it's an art and you can do whatever you feel like doing! You can tell me "oh your eyes are wayy to intense to be wearing a color that bright on your lips!!" Well I like it that way! So I'll do it MY WAY even if according to the "rules" it's not adecquate... If you like to wear super intense black eyes with dark red lips, that's your choice, it's your face and you are free do wear what you want and what makes you happy and proud! If you ask me, I loovee colorful make-up, especially during summer, I will totally go for vivid turquoise eyes and fluorescent pink lips hahaa

Now for those of you who are more dareing, here is the ist of products I used:

Eyes:

MAC: blanctype (used as flesh tone, neutral base), electra (Highlight in the inner corners and under the brow), carbon  (give dept in the crease and create dimension)

UrbanDecay: gunmetal (over carbon to add dazzle and sparkle to the smokey eye)

Stila: Kitten (add pretty peach shimmers to give extra glamour to our look)

Black Pencil: I used smolder because it is a really inky dark black, love it!! I also really love the waterproof one from Faces!

Cheeks:
keep really simple, there is alot action going on around the eyes and the lips, you want it soft and natural!!

Contour: Harmony from MAC
Blush: Lady blush creme blush from MAC

Lips:

Pencil: pin up pink from sephora and trimmed in pink from MAC

3choices for lipstick:

Revlon:  Love that Pink, this one is a little coral (really pretty and really cheap)

Sephora: color R13

MAC: Impassioned, one of my all time favorite pink lipstick, this baby will really stand out!!! It has fluorescent pigments in it I think... what ever, it's sooo bright! My Fav!!

For EXTRA HOT PINK DAZZLE SEXINESS, this is really what will make your lips POP: Dazzleglass, from the dare to wear collection, GIMME THAT! mixed with Impassioned = move out of the way, the sexy mouther pucker is here!!! hahaa

Too bad on the camera you can't see that well, but trust me, awsome combo!!
Have an awsome dayy!!! Big Hot Pink Kiss!!! xx

Sexy and Glamourous Miley Cyrus: who owns my heart

As promised, here are pictures of ths original look:

This loo was so fun to do!! I love miley cyrus's look in her video!! She is just soo pretty and I really wished I had a crimper haha because her hair was just sooo cool and funky and fun :) This will be on my list of things to get haha

So, now for the products... this look was just so simple and I used wayy less colors then in my previous video hihi

Eyes and Eyebrows:
MAC:
Blanctype, Omega, wedge, concrete, corduroy, carbon
Lashes:
They are from Ardell... I am really sorry I forgot the number but they are the really huge ones... very dramatic, hope this helps!
Eyeliner:
Maybeline: Line Stiletto (really cheap and really great)

Cheeks:
MAC:
Creme Blush: ladyblush, baby rosie color with hipness on top
Contour: Harmony
Lips:
MAC:
Myth and Viva Glam, the Lady Gaga one

This is it... really simple eh!  Sometimes the most beautiful looks are the less complicated ones... Think of the pin up look, it is probably the oldest and most known look, probably one of the quickest and easiest one too!! It has passed every generation, can be worn by women any ages and suites any eye color or face shape! One of my personnal fave!! The perfect combination of the sexy cat eye and the sultry glamourous red lips are very hard to beat when it comes to creating a look that will draw the attention from almost every males ;) haha... I find this is a softer version... more wearable on an everyday basis! The light pink lips add a cute little twist to it, don't you think?

So have a beautiful day, Erika Ann xxx
